North Sulawesi coasts are legendary for its
coral reefs. Bunaken Island is the chief attraction of the province offering
much of the best coral just under the surface. One of the world’s most
beautiful coral environments is situated here. The seagardens are easily
accessible to snorkelers and non-divers can experience much of Bunaken’s
wonder through a glass-bottom boat. For divers, this island prepare 13
sites featuring steep and caved coral walls descending to 50m. Mantehage
island propose divers with 5 sites. Shark and Barracuda are hanging arround
here. Tanjung Pisok Cape reveals Blue Ribbon Eels and Barracuda. Manado
Tua Island propose 4 sites. Hammerhead sharks have been seen around here,
in addition to the more common reef sharks. Bitung and Lembeh Strait lures
with unusual species lurk in the dephts such as sea-horses, snake eels,
octopus, scorpion fishes and a Japanese freighter. Sangihe-Talaud Islands
offer a set of underwater volcanoes with different seascapes |
